Steak In Cast Iron
Steak in cast iron is wonderful. I didn’t think anything could compare to a grilled steak but I think I have found a close rival.
Instructions
I marinate my steak in olive oil and seasonings. I love spices and I use different ones all the time. For this particular steak I used a Chicago steak seasoning as well as garlic and cracked black pepper. I marinated it all day. I then heated my cast iron skillet and put a few tablespoons of olive oil in it. I placed the steak in the pan and cooked each side for about 5 minutes. I then placed the skillet in a 400 degree oven and cooked it until done. The steak gets a crusty exterior from the stove and the juices in the pan after its cooked in the oven are delicious poured over the steak on your plate.
It’s a great way to have a delicious steak in the winter when you can’t grill outside.
