A Brand New Year
The year before us is like a flower slowly unfurling its petals, unfolding into a blossom as the year opens up.

It is so incredible that the past year has come to an end. It seems like it just flew by. We can’t go back and edit it. What’s done is done! The greatest thing is the brand new year that lays before us. There are clean white pages waiting to record the events of our lives. As we anticipate all that we will encounter this year we also realize there is no eraser for these pages. What is recorded will be forever stamped on the pages. We will make mistakes and we can’t go back and delete them off the pages. There is someone that can though! Our wonderful Lord can take the big eraser of His love and forgiveness and edit and delete all that wasn’t pleasing to Him. We just have to come before Him and repent and ask! Wow. What a trade! We can’t forget them, but He can! It’s so hard in our humanity to be able to comprehend a love like that. We hold grudges and are never able to let go of things done against us. Lord help us!
We have a block of time before us. 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525,600 minutes and 31,536,000 seconds! This time is a GIFT from God. We did nothing to deserve it or earn it. We can’t purchase it. There is no slowing it down or stopping it either.
We have been given time now what are we going to do with it? At the end of this life when all of our time has been allotted we will stand before the King of All and give an account of how we spent His gift.
I don’t want to waste the time I have been given by worrying and wishing things were different. I want to believe that my God knows exactly what I need and He will provide the strength to go through it. He won’t give me more than I can bear and I want to be able to overcome all that He places before me.
We have no promise of tomorrow. So today, make every moment count. Find your purpose here on earth and embrace the God who gives you life and breath today. We can’t ever get back time once it is gone but we can be determined to utilize it to its fullest potential today.
Happy New Year
