It’s All Good!!

Are you tired of seeing the news? Me too! Read on for some good news!

It's All Good!!I’m sure most people don’t enjoy watching or reading the news because it is mostly bad and depressing.  For the past several months I have been saving stories that are good news and today I want to share some of them. There are still good people doing good things for their fellow man. We certainly don’t need to see our name in the headlines to be a hero. I know there are hundreds of stories that haven’t been published of all the unsung heroes who took risks and saved lives and continue to do so. To be able to give the first responders, whoever they might be, credit for their heroism is impossible. I just want to share the following stories to encourage each of us to be a hero. We don’t need to wait for a catastrophe to happen. We can just take a moment and make a plan to help someone we know who could use a helping hand or a compassionate heart.

Deshaun Watson is a rookie quarterback who gave a very generous donation to hurricane Harvey victims. He donated his first paycheck! This money went to the cafeteria workers who were supplying meals to the workers. They had lost homes and vehicles.

Former New York Yankees pitcher Jorge Posada, along with his wife set up a foundation for donations to Puerto Rico. They have sent food and supplies down to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

They might be convicted felons, but they still have a heart! After the devastation left by Hurricane Harvey, inmates in Texas decided to pool their commissary funds. Nearly 6600 inmates donated their money to the Red Cross. Each of them donated an average of $8, some donated hundreds. They donated 53,000 dollars!

U.S. marine vet, Taylor Winston, stole a pick up truck near the Las Vegas concert shooting sight. He and a friend transported 20-30 people to local hospitals before emergency responders had it under control. Taylor credited his military training for helping him to react so quickly. He served two tours in Iraq.

Roma Downey, found herself angry at seeing the harsh realities on T.V. news channels. She determined to start a website called Lightworkers.com. It “celebrates good news and highlights people that are doing good things”. Lightworkers.com features articles and short videos on various topics relating to faith and good news.

I have more stories that I have saved but I will save them for another time. I just want to promote the good news that there are still people who will take risks and help promote good in this evil world that we live in. Reach out today and restore a relationship, send a card of encouragement or a well deserved thank you!
