A Child of the King
Did you ever wish your Father was the King?
Just think, to be a Child of the King.
I read a quote the other day that brought tears to my eyes and renewed my spirit! It said,
“Sometimes on dark days, I think.. Nobody cares and nobody’s coming. Then I remember who sends thoughts like that… And I straighten my crown.”
Oh how I needed to hear that!
To be reminded that I am a child of the King. The King of creation, the king of glory! The King that lives in my heart and gives strength and power when I’m so weak and frail I can hardly muster the courage to press on. I just needed that extra boost to remind me I am His child and He watches over His children.
I have been battling with severe pain in my face for the past week. It’s been diagnosed as trigeminal neuralgia. I have had it for about 6 and a half years. It is when the nerves in your face become inflamed and causes excruciating pain throughout your face. I took nerve medication at the beginning but I had an allergic reaction to the first one and the second one caused anxiety. I try to deal with pain in a natural way to avoid damaging my liver. I suffered severe liver trauma when I developed a virus ten years ago.
I use turmeric for pain and inflammation. It is a spice that has wonderful healing properties. I also use essential oils and white willow bark. White willow bark is where aspirin is derived from. I have also discovered that b12 has calming effects on my nerves.
Prayer is my number one resource for pain as well as all of my trials. The Lord has promised to supply our needs and pain is definitely a need! When I think of approaching a King I think of doing so with great reverence and respect. I believe when we approach our Heavenly Father with that same respect, we will receive an answer and get the help we are asking for. He won’t necessarily take away our trial but give needed strength to go through it.
I heard a story about a slave who worked harder than all the others and had a different type of attitude. A slave owner wanted to buy him. The current owner said “oh no he isn’t for sale. He is the son of a King where he comes from, and he still conducts himself as a child of the King”.
Oh that we could have that same attitude! May people look at our lives and our conduct and know that we are sons and daughters of a King! When you see a king or a queen and their family you know you are in the presence of royalty. I believe as we live here on this earth, people should know they are in the presence of royalty! We serve a living King who deserves our deepest praise and gratitude. May the world see that the King of all is in residence in our hearts by manifesting His love by loving and serving each other. After all, we are a Child of the King.
